If you want to experience the immense beauty — both natural and historical — of Australia's primary Aboriginal lands, then a tour of Arnhem Land is the only way to do it. At Top End Day Tours, we offer day tours of this region from Darwin, as well as from Jabiru near the Kakadu National Park.
It should be noted, though, that space on these tours is incredibly limited. We are one of just two day tour companies in the country that has permission to guide tours through Arnhem Land. Of those two companies, we are the only one that offers Kakadu tours from Darwin. Only a limited number of people can visit Arnhem Land on these tours each day. The result is a trip that feels very intimate and special, but also one where the open spots can evaporate quickly.
Dates and Timing Specifics
We run these tours throughout the dry season, which lasts from 1 May to 31 October. Because a key part of this tour is the stop at the Injalak Arts and Craft Centre — which is closed on Sundays — we only run the tour from Monday through Saturday each week. That gives us approximately 128 Arnhem Land tours from Darwin each year.
